    I was taking Metropol and Lisinopril and they absolutely ruined my life. I gained 30lbs, got so depressed, couldn't get out of bed because I was so fatigued, didn't care about anything..I was a dead man walking. I was taking Lisinopril and got blood clots in my legs from it..before they did the fasciotomy, they did my blood work and told me I need to stop taking Lisinopril and started giving me Zinc. That crap is poison and it never even did anything for my blood pressure. I wish I could sue..like I said it ruined my life and I lost EVERYTHING

    for anyone with sinus tachycardia, don't use this one it doesn't work well. Metoprolol works better for heart rate specifically, and this is better for blood pressure.

  • @tjmiller5060
    @tjmiller5060 10 дней назад

    I was given metoprolol for tachycardia….It helps with heart rate but I had difficulty breathing, fatigue and syncope. Actually put on 20 lbs in about the first 3 weeks on it. I had to sit upright to sleep, it was a very scary feeling. I tapered myself off of it after about 3 months as the side effects were worse than the tachycardia! Now I have developed POTS. So while I’m standing my blood pools in my legs, and my heart races faster to get oxygen to my brain. After standing for a couple of minutes I completely lose consciousness and fall to the ground. I went from a full time job in pharmacy to early retirement by choice, and now I can’t even shower when I’m home alone. 😢 I’m using a shower chair and have to pace myself just for everyday chores….cooking or even brushing my teeth. I’m slowly going to work my way back into an active lifestyle. I know it’s going to take time and patience, but I can’t live like this forever. I didn’t work hard for early retirement just to be bedridden!

I really don't know what to do at this point... I stopped taking Statin drugs at least 15 years ago... 3 times I ruptured a tendon doing my normal work... Three different brands of Statin drugs... I will never take another Statin drug... I'm 74 years old and I still go to work every day...

    71 year old male here, living in Switzerland. Have been eating low carbs since 1972 (Atkins - <50gr/day) and since around 2017 very low carbs (<25gr/day) . 188cm and currently (and for the last 5 years) 105kg. I was diagnosed in 1999 with idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. Twice again in 2013. I was also diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 in 2014 (provoked through Spiricort given to suppress symptoms of Polymyalgia Rheumatica) and had a heart attack in 2018. For neuropathic pain relief I was started on Gabapentin and Cymbalta. Because of horrid cognitive side effects, Cymbalta was switched out for Effexor. Unfortunately, these cognitive side effects didn't stop, so I stopped using them. Myalgia is a tricky one as both my GP and neurologist confirmed. Mostly because neither a GP nor the patient can easily differentiate between "muscle" pain and nerve pain. Think of rotor collar injuries. Feels like a muscles problem, is however a neurological problem. In any case, only a neurologist is equipped to test, often through electro-conductivity tests, if a patient is having "muscle" pain or something different, like neuropathy. I 've had neuropathy since 1999. Only started statins in 2018 after a heart attack. I was aware of the warnings that statins can either cause neuropathies OR increase the discomfort of already existing neuropathies. The later was my case - couldn't tolerate Atorvastatin. I'm now on Ezetimib/Rosuvstatin-Mepha 10 mg/10 mg and take it 3 times a week. My Lipids are now in excellent range and through other means, my neuropathy discomfort has b been gradually receding since August 2023. Next large blood panel due the end of June 2024. I'm VERY interested in seeing bout my HbA1c and Lipids are, since I stopped Metformin and started taking Inositol and Berberine, both of which have empirical evidence showing decreasing both while not negatively effecting HDL (open as to whether they raise HDL or it stays the same, depends on the study you read).

I live in Portugal as a legal resident so my cost are really minimal including the fact that I am going to get a “upgrade “on my pacemaker to include a defibrillator that’s paid 100% by the country. Stopped taking Statins, my Doctor was amazed that I had reversed it and said, “whatever you did, you need to bottle it, and put it on eBay”!! I have high Cholesterol, and have been asked quite a few times now about going back on Statins, I politely decline, even though I know I’m at risk from heart disease, stroke or heart attack!!
